Application: 2026 Health & Sciences (STEM) Pathways Program - Year 7 in 2026

There are up to 20 positions available for enrolment at Adelaide Botanic High School for Year 7 in 2026 through this  out-of-zone* selective entry process.  


All applicants will be required to :

  • Complete this online application, providing details of student and parent.

  • Complete this online application, answering the questions that will address interest and previous experience in STEM learning.

  • Provide a 30 second video of the student (introducing themselves and advise what they love about STEM).

  • Provide a copy of the student's 2024 Year 5 Semester 2 school report (there is a section to Upload in this online application).

  • Pay to sit the ACER Higher Ability Skills Test (HAST), to be held on Saturday, 1 March 2025 (there is a section to pay in this online application).

Shortlisted students may also be invited to attend an interview.

* Applications for students living in-zone will not be accepted. Any payment made will be refunded (less the Stripe payment service fee).

ACER Higher Ability Skills Test (HAST) Payment and Booking

All applicants are required to sit the ACER High Abilities Selection Test (HAST).   The HAST is designed to measure academic ability rather than academic achievement.

The assessment comprises three parts: Reading Comprehension, Mathematical Reasoning and Abstract Reasoning.
